Better known as Salt Bae, a moniker bestowed on him after a video of him flamboyantly sprinkling salt on steak went viral, he took to his Instagram page to announce the opening of the latest Nusr-Et steakhouse at Riyadh’s U-Walk complex.

Salt Bae first opened his Turkish steakhouse in 2010, but thanks to his theatrical salt-sprinkling viral video has garnered worldwide attention, and since expanded his culinary empire to a collection of almost 30 restaurants, including a trio of Middle Eastern restaurants in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

Nusret Gökçe told The National that "beautiful Riyadh" feels "like home". The announcement came after Gökçe left the new Knightsbridge restaurant in London, which opened in September. "I will go to Riyadh to open my 28th restaurant," he said.

While preparing for the Opening day, Salt Bae posted a series of photos and videos on his Instagram Stories to show diners what to expect, writing: "Like a heaven. We are open."

The photo shows Gökçe in a massive room with large herringbone-patterned double doors (talk about a grand opening). And another video with him opening the massive establishment's doors, letting everyone know that Nusr-Et Steakhouse is officially open for business.

Nusr-Et is a steakhouse with a twist. On the menu, you'll find appetizers such as beef carpaccio and sushi. The restaurant will serve steaks, spaghetti, and ribs as main courses, all of which are hand-crafted by the guy himself.

U Walk, his most recent site in Riyadh, is one of the capital's most popular hangout locations. Because of the area's cafés and restaurants, many of which provide outdoor eating, it has a lively vibe.

This week, Nusr-Et isn't the only attractive new addition to Riyadh's eating scene. Il Baretto, an authentic Italian restaurant, has joined the growing list of globally recognized restaurants making their mark on the culinary scene of the Kingdom's capital.
