Burgan Bank recently concluded its sponsorship of “Al Ahmadi Governorate’s third Blood Donation Campaign”, which was held under the slogan “A Drop of Your Blood...A Life for Others”. The event took place under the auspice of His Excellency Sheikh Fawaz Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Governor of Al-Ahmadi, at Al Kout Mall, and was attended by the representative of His Excellency the Governor of Al-Ahmadi, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shatti, Director of Al-Ahmadi Health District. Sponsored as part of the Bank’s social responsibility program, the campaign was launched with the aim of increasing public awareness regarding the importance of donating blood and its impact in saving lives. It also aimed to shed light on the importance of continuing to donate blood throughout the year to provide for the needs of the Blood Bank.
In a statement about the campaign, delivered by his representative Dr. Al-Shatti, Sheikh Al-Khaled stressed the significance of blood transfusion services as a vital component of the public healthcare sector - something the Governate sought to capture with the campaign slogan ‘A Drop of Your Blood... A Life for Others’. He also noted that Al Ahmadi Governate is keen on continuing to organize this campaign year on year in order to help support the healthcare sector and promote better healthcare services; as a core part of the Governate’s social responsibility mission and in partnership with various public sector entities, private sector organization and volunteer groups.

On her part, Ms. Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Senior Manager - Public Relations at Burgan Bank, said: “Burgan Bank is proud to sponsor and support the third Al Ahmadi Governorate Blood Donation Campaign, under the slogan ‘A Drop of Your Blood...A Life for Others’, as part of its social responsibility program, and out of the Bank’s commitment to support the healthcare sector in Kuwait”. She added: “We are proud of the success of this campaign, where many of the mall-goers took the initiative to donate blood. Their combined efforts resulted in a total of 142 bags of blood donated, which provided the Blood Bank with a significant supply of various blood types, especially rare ones. It is also important to note that this campaign will contribute to saving the lives of patients who are in dire need of blood transfusions – which is why initiatives of this kind are so critical.”
She concluded: “We would like to thank everyone who participated in this humanitarian, awareness-raising campaign. On our part at Burgan Bank, we will continue spreading the culture of blood donation among members of society, so that we all continue to contribute towards saving lives and ensuring the wellbeing of our community. The reality is that every drop of blood really does matter.”
