ABK the Platinum Sponsor of the 56th NUKS - UK Chapter Annual Conference

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) announced the signing of a platinum sponsorship agreement with the UK chapter of National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) for the Union’s 56th Annual Conference scheduled to be held in London from 24th to 26th February, 2023.

During the conference, ABK will hold a number of activities aimed at students, including a penalty shoot-out tournament. In addition, the Human Resources team from the Bank will also be presenting a seminar.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Sager Albenali, Acting Chief Communications Officer stated: "We are delighted to be a platinum sponsor of the 56th annual conference of the UK chapter of NUKS. Our decision stems from our understanding that the Union plays an important role in helping Kuwaiti students who are studying in the UK by providing guidance and direction, especially in the initial stages of their studies. The significant academic and life experiences that students gain while studying abroad necessitate our support to help them overcome any obstacles they may encounter during their educational journey.”

Furthermore, Mr. Albenali said: "It's worth highlighting that ABK's sponsorship of our students is not a recent development. The Bank has been an active participant in sponsoring events organized by the US chapter of NUKS, as well as the activities of various colleges and specialties under Kuwait University. Our continued support of NUKS serves as a testament to our ongoing commitment to investing in the growth and development of young Kuwaiti talents."

He added: "During the conference, which coincides with the Kuwait National Holiday, the Bank will sponsor various activities including the penalty shoot-out tournament directed especially to our students in the United Kingdom. The tournament will witness the participation of 32 teams of students who are currently studying in the United Kingdom. On the second day, at the London Hilton on Park Lane, students will compete for the first place to win cash prizes totalling 9,000 British Pounds, an entertaining theatrical performance, and a special draw. The event will also include a raffle for valuable cash prizes for students participating in the event. In addition to holding a seminar presented by ABK’s Human Resources team, which aims to introduce students to the Bank and its activities, and provide future job opportunities to the students.

ABK will allocate financial prizes of KD10,000 to students through their participation in various competitions and activities that include questions about ABK and the awareness campaign “Let's Be Aware”.

On the closing day of the conference on February 26, the Bank will celebrate its National Day with students at Covent Garden, a significant tourist attraction in London, by organizing entertainment activities and a special program to win many cash prizes.

The UK chapter of NUKS has been a guiding light to Kuwaiti students studying abroad for over 70 years. Originally established in 1952, jointly as the UK and Ireland Chapter, NUKS has been dedicated to helping Kuwaiti students through their challenges and make their pursuit of education overseas as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

ABK constantly strives to support various student activities inside and outside Kuwait as part of its social responsibility strategy, and its strong focus on education and youth. The Bank also devotes itself in supporting young graduates by providing employment opportunities and training programs. through the ABK Academy, which was established in 2009. The academy has been functioning as a center for training new graduates with the aim of discovering new talents and developing their skills to prime them for careers in the private sector.
