The Embassy of Thailand in Kuwait announced that starting from 1 May, 2022, Thailand will fully re-open, and the RT-PCR test and quarantine for fully vaccinated travelers to the country are no longer required. Travelers are advised to register Thailand Pass prior to travel with the travel insurance. The relaxing restrictions also apply to restaurants, tourist destinations and other business sectors in day and night throughout the country where they are allowed to re-open or operate with extra hours.

The Thai government will continue to encourage international travelers to self-test using antigen test kits during their stays in Thailand. Treatments for those who test positive will be covered by their travel insurance. All travelers to Thailand can register for Thailand Pass prior to travel via website tp.consular.go.th and upload necessary documents based on the entry criteria. The system takes only 1 – 2 days to approve and will issue the Thailand Pass QR code for the traveler to use in their travel to Thailand.

In the year 2019, before COVID-19, Thailand was one of the top destinations for Kuwait, with average of 70,000 travelers for tourism and medical treatment. “When we fully re-open the country, it means that business is back to normal. We hope to attract more tourists to visit Thailand this year. The Royal Thai Embassy stands by ready to assist and welcome Kuwaitis to visit Thailand,” said Rooge Thammongkol, Thai Ambassador to Kuwait.
